The netizens got a chance to vote for the most potentially successful idol star as a musical actor.

Community portal site ‘DCINCIDE’ conducted an online survey from June 4 to the 11th, asking “Which idol star most likely to succeed as a musical actor/actress?" and JYJ’s Kim Junsu gained the highest poll rate.

Among a total of 30,548 votes, Kim Junsu overwhelmingly won the support of 16,934 votes(55.4%). Junsu has started his career in musical in 2010 as he played a male lead from musical ‘Mozart.’

A Pink’s Eunji ranked second (26.6%) on the poll for her role in ‘Legally Blonde’, and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun came in third (6.1%) for musical ‘The Three Musketeers’.

Lee Kwang Soo, A Pink’s Eunji and Teen Top’s Niel, who have been chosen as the new models for the carbonated drink, ‘Fanta’, have released their latest single titled, “Fanta Time” for the brand.

The three stars will be forming the ‘Fantastic Idols’ group from ‘Fanta Entertainment’ with Lee Kwang Soo as the leader of the group and the CEO of the agency. They will showcase each of their individual charms to represent the brand’s flavors-- orange, pineapple and grape.

Rookie group Bangtan Boys (BTS) take fans behind the scenes and unveil the making of “No More Dream” music video and album jacket shooting.

Bangtan Boys released their debut album ‘2COOL 4SKOOL’ which contains hip hop music that the group created with passion. The members have participated in writing the lyrics and composition to show off their extraordinary skills.

To celebrate their debut, the group held a showcase at the Ilchi Art Hall on June 12th. For those who aren’t able to attend the event, they uploaded a video containing footage from their showcase performances and backstage interview.

Singer Huh Gak and A Pink’s Jung Eunji have come together to perform their collaborative single “Short Hair” for the first time during a special stage on this week’s ‘M! Countdown’.

After almost 10 months since the release of first single ‘Oh! Dance’, Korean-Singaporean girl group Skarf returned with their first mini-album ‘Luv Virus’. Kickstarting their promotions, they performed their comeback stage on ‘M! Countdown’.

Returning to the music scene as a solo artist, Super Junior-M’s Henry kicked off his solo debut performance of “Trap” on the June 13th episode of Mnet ‘M! Countdown’.

“Trap” is decribed as an urban dance pop number with a unique blend of strong drum beats, piano and strings. The song is accompanied by two SM artists, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and SHINee’s Taemin, raising much anticipation and excitement.

Shinhwa has done it again! The longest-running idol group has sold out the Seoul leg of their ongoing Asia tour in just five minutes.

On June 12 at 8PM KST, Shinhwa opened the ticket sales for the ‘2013 Shinhwa Grand Finale: The Classic in Seoul’ which will be held on August 3 and 4. As soon as ticketing site was opened, all of 27,000 seats were out in just five minutes and the flood of requests even crashed the servers for short period of time, frustrating many fans.

This is their second time in 2013 to sell out all of their tickets for concert after their sold-out 15th anniversary concert in March. For their upcoming Seoul finale, Shinhwa is said to be preparing something better, and different concert from the previous one.

Meanwhile, Shinhwa will continue their ‘2013 Shinhwa Grand Tour The Classic’ at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on June 22.


Hallyu groups TVXQ and FT Island have stormed into the Oricon chart with their latest Japanese releases.

According to Oricon’s website on June 13, TVXQ’s 37th Japanese single ‘Ocean’ nabbed the second place spot on the daily singles chart after selling 88,428 copies since its release on the 12th.

On the other hand, FT Island’s took the third place of the same chart with 18,088 copies sold for third Japanese full length album ‘RATED-FT’. The album contains the title song “Freedom” as well as tracks written by the members.


After sweeping online music charts, SISTAR has achieved another ‘perfect all-kill’ for their comeback title track, “Give It To Me”.

On June 11th, SISTAR released their second official album and the title song “Give It To Me” swept all of South Korea’s major real-time music charts. The single also ranked first on the iChart on Instiz, certifying a ‘perfect all-kill’ on the chart.

Earlier this year, the group’s sub-unit duo, SISTAR19 has also achieved a ‘perfect all-kill’ with “Gone Not Around Any Longer”.


Kim Hyun Joong has sold a record-breaking number of copies of his new Japanese single.

On June 11, Japan’s music chart Oricon announced, “Kim Hyun Joong made a record for reaching 100,000 sales with his all three singles. It’s the first time this has occurred for any Korean solo singer active in Korea.”

Kim Hyun Joong’s third Japanese single ‘TONIGHT’ sold 116,000 copies in the first week. It is the singer’s third single album to sell over 100,000 copies in the first week of release following his previous singles ‘KISS KISS/Lucky Guy’ and ‘HEAT’.

A representative of Universal Music Japan said, “Not only the new album ‘TONIGHT’, but also the previously released singles ‘HEAT’ and ‘KISS KISS/Lucky Guy’ are having orders until now. They are sold out already in some stores, proving his hot popularity.”


B2ST has just released the album jacket photo for second preview track titled, “I’m Sorry”.

Before launching their new album in July, B2ST will release another title track, “I’m Sorry”, on June 15th. The song was co-produced by member Yong Junhyung and composer Kim Tae Joo, and the lyrics will be about the feelings a man has after breaking up.

Bang Shi Hyuk’s newly-formed group, Bulletproof Boy Scouts a.k.a BTS or Bangtan Boys, have chosen Big Bang as their role model.

The group released their first mini album ‘2COOL 4SKOOL’ on June 12th, and held their debut showcase at the Gangnam Ilchi Art Hall where they performed the title song “No More Dream” for the first time.

During the showcase, Bangtan Boys members revealed, “Big Bang is our role model. Jung Kook respects G-Dragon, and Jin respects T.O.P.” They added, “Big Bang is at the top as hip hop idols, so we learn a lot by watching them on stage. We want to be like them.”


MBLAQ’s Thunder and Lee Joon will be hosting this week’s Mnet ‘M! Countdown’.

On June 13, Thunder and Lee Joon will serve as special MCs for ‘M! Countdown’ as well as performing their comeback stage for “Smoky Girl” with the other MBLAQ members.

Couple of photos were uploaded to Starship Entertainment’s official Twitter, showing each cut of four SISTAR members dressed in flashy and sexy outfits. Especially, Soyu’s photo shows her sexy tango moves with male dancer has gained good response from the male fans.

“Give It To Me” was produced by hit maker Duble Sidekick, who also behind their summer hit song “Loving U”, and is arranged by a famous producer Kim Do Hun. The song also achieved an all-kill status few hours after the release.





B.A.P, who previously left the country for its tour in the United States ‘B.A.P Live on Earth Pacific’, also took the chance to secretly film a music video for upcoming single.

Idol group SHINee is planning to release their 5th mini album this year.

SHINee released two new albums not too long ago but it seems they will not be able get off on stage as they are said to release a new album in the later half of the year.

A news report about TVXQ's Japanese tour was released on the 12th of June and it contained some information about other SM artists. SHINee was included in the article as they are said to be promoting again in Korea.
