Hallyu groups TVXQ and FT Island have stormed into the Oricon chart with their latest Japanese releases.

According to Oricon’s website on June 13, TVXQ’s 37th Japanese single ‘Ocean’ nabbed the second place spot on the daily singles chart after selling 88,428 copies since its release on the 12th.

On the other hand, FT Island’s took the third place of the same chart with 18,088 copies sold for third Japanese full length album ‘RATED-FT’. The album contains the title song “Freedom” as well as tracks written by the members.

FT Island frontman Lee Hongki’s photobook for his debut movie ‘Passionate Goodbye’ ranked first in Japan’s sales chart.

According to Japan Tower Record, photobook for the movie ‘Passionate Goodbye’ (also titled ‘Phoenix : The Song of Promise’ in Japan) starring Lee Hong Ki became number 1 at book and magazine chart. The photobook contains still cuts from the film and unreleased making photos.

‘Passionate Goodbye’ premiered in Korea on May 30 and it has been released in Japan under the title of ‘Phoenix : The Song of Promise’ on June 7. It is about the story of troublesome idol star (Hong Ki) and terminally ill patients who find the true value of lives as they get to know each other.

Idol band FT Island celebrated their sixth anniversary since their debut.

The boys celebrated the special event with a small party among themselves. FT Island sent their message to fans through their agency FNC Entertainment saying, “We want to sincerely thank our fans for our sixth anniversary and we will continue to make better music.”

Also, photos from their celebration have been released showing the group members holding a cake saying “FT ISLAND Debut 6 Years Congratulations.”

FT Island is currently preparing for the release of their third Japanese studio album ‘RATED-FT’ on June 12.

Idol band FT Island will be releasing its third Japanese full length album ‘RATED-FT’ this coming June and after unveiling the music video for “Freedom”, they now dropped the MV for the track “Orange Sky”.

‘RATED-FT’ will hit stores on June 5th, over a year since releasing their previous Japanese album, ‘20[Twenty].’ The track “Orange Sky” is a slow, ballad number which was produced by FT ISland’s front man, Lee Hong Ki.
