The netizens got a chance to vote for the most potentially successful idol star as a musical actor.

Community portal site ‘DCINCIDE’ conducted an online survey from June 4 to the 11th, asking “Which idol star most likely to succeed as a musical actor/actress?" and JYJ’s Kim Junsu gained the highest poll rate.

Among a total of 30,548 votes, Kim Junsu overwhelmingly won the support of 16,934 votes(55.4%). Junsu has started his career in musical in 2010 as he played a male lead from musical ‘Mozart.’

A Pink’s Eunji ranked second (26.6%) on the poll for her role in ‘Legally Blonde’, and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun came in third (6.1%) for musical ‘The Three Musketeers’.

Shinhwa has done it again! The longest-running idol group has sold out the Seoul leg of their ongoing Asia tour in just five minutes.

On June 12 at 8PM KST, Shinhwa opened the ticket sales for the ‘2013 Shinhwa Grand Finale: The Classic in Seoul’ which will be held on August 3 and 4. As soon as ticketing site was opened, all of 27,000 seats were out in just five minutes and the flood of requests even crashed the servers for short period of time, frustrating many fans.

This is their second time in 2013 to sell out all of their tickets for concert after their sold-out 15th anniversary concert in March. For their upcoming Seoul finale, Shinhwa is said to be preparing something better, and different concert from the previous one.

Meanwhile, Shinhwa will continue their ‘2013 Shinhwa Grand Tour The Classic’ at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on June 22.

Hallyu groups TVXQ and FT Island have stormed into the Oricon chart with their latest Japanese releases.

According to Oricon’s website on June 13, TVXQ’s 37th Japanese single ‘Ocean’ nabbed the second place spot on the daily singles chart after selling 88,428 copies since its release on the 12th.

On the other hand, FT Island’s took the third place of the same chart with 18,088 copies sold for third Japanese full length album ‘RATED-FT’. The album contains the title song “Freedom” as well as tracks written by the members.

After sweeping online music charts, SISTAR has achieved another ‘perfect all-kill’ for their comeback title track, “Give It To Me”.

On June 11th, SISTAR released their second official album and the title song “Give It To Me” swept all of South Korea’s major real-time music charts. The single also ranked first on the iChart on Instiz, certifying a ‘perfect all-kill’ on the chart.

Earlier this year, the group’s sub-unit duo, SISTAR19 has also achieved a ‘perfect all-kill’ with “Gone Not Around Any Longer”.

Kim Hyun Joong has sold a record-breaking number of copies of his new Japanese single.

On June 11, Japan’s music chart Oricon announced, “Kim Hyun Joong made a record for reaching 100,000 sales with his all three singles. It’s the first time this has occurred for any Korean solo singer active in Korea.”

Kim Hyun Joong’s third Japanese single ‘TONIGHT’ sold 116,000 copies in the first week. It is the singer’s third single album to sell over 100,000 copies in the first week of release following his previous singles ‘KISS KISS/Lucky Guy’ and ‘HEAT’.

A representative of Universal Music Japan said, “Not only the new album ‘TONIGHT’, but also the previously released singles ‘HEAT’ and ‘KISS KISS/Lucky Guy’ are having orders until now. They are sold out already in some stores, proving his hot popularity.”

Bang Shi Hyuk’s newly-formed group, Bulletproof Boy Scouts a.k.a BTS or Bangtan Boys, have chosen Big Bang as their role model.

The group released their first mini album ‘2COOL 4SKOOL’ on June 12th, and held their debut showcase at the Gangnam Ilchi Art Hall where they performed the title song “No More Dream” for the first time.

During the showcase, Bangtan Boys members revealed, “Big Bang is our role model. Jung Kook respects G-Dragon, and Jin respects T.O.P.” They added, “Big Bang is at the top as hip hop idols, so we learn a lot by watching them on stage. We want to be like them.”

It seems that Byul is liking her husband HaHa’s new look.

Recently, HaHa revealed his new hairstyle on his Twitter sharing, “Yes~~^^ I dyed my hair~!! hahahaha In 15 years~~ I look like a punk, right?” He also attached a photo of himself looking proud with his blond hair.

After seeing HaHa’s tweet, his wife Byul also posted on her Twitter, “I married an idol! He looks like a SHINee member! So pretty~~~^^”, giving some laughs to her followers.

Idol group SHINee is planning to release their 5th mini album this year.

SHINee released two new albums not too long ago but it seems they will not be able get off on stage as they are said to release a new album in the later half of the year.

A news report about TVXQ's Japanese tour was released on the 12th of June and it contained some information about other SM artists. SHINee was included in the article as they are said to be promoting again in Korea. To be sure, a Korean fan contacted the SM itself to confirm the news to which SM revealed that it is one of their plans this year.

KARA are keeping the promise that they made two years ago with their fans.

According to the group’s agency, DSP Media, KARA will hold a fan meeting at Sang Myung Art Center in Seoul on June 15. The group will reunite with their fan club ‘Kamilia’ to celebrate ‘Kamilia Day’ with around 1,000 fans.

During a previous fan meeting held two years back on June 11, 2011, KARA promised to celebrate ‘Kamilia Day’ every year. In 2012, the meeting was attended by about 400 fans.

DSP Media said, “Despite their busy schedules, all the members of KARA will attend the fan meeting to keep the promise they made to fans two years ago. The theme will be ‘Kamilia award’ where KARA are the award winner and the fans are the the audience attending an awards ceremony.”

FT Island frontman Lee Hongki’s photobook for his debut movie ‘Passionate Goodbye’ ranked first in Japan’s sales chart.

According to Japan Tower Record, photobook for the movie ‘Passionate Goodbye’ (also titled ‘Phoenix : The Song of Promise’ in Japan) starring Lee Hong Ki became number 1 at book and magazine chart. The photobook contains still cuts from the film and unreleased making photos.

‘Passionate Goodbye’ premiered in Korea on May 30 and it has been released in Japan under the title of ‘Phoenix : The Song of Promise’ on June 7. It is about the story of troublesome idol star (Hong Ki) and terminally ill patients who find the true value of lives as they get to know each other.

Having already wrapped up their music show promotions, Shinhwa continues to dominate music charts with their latest title song, “This Love”.

According to music website Soribada, Shinhwa’s comeback song “This Love” remained number one again for the first week of June, making it the fourth consecutive week to be on top since its release on May 16th.

MBLAQ’s new song “Smoky Girl” ranked second on the chart while 4men’s OST single Only You placed third. EXO’s comeback track “Wolf” and Rainbow’s “Sunshine” also ranked within the top five of the chart.

Meanwhile, Shinhwa is currently busy with their ‘2013 Shinhwa Grand Tour: The Classic’ which kickstarted in Hong Kong in June 8th.

After releasing the preview track “Will It Be Okay”, B2ST will be pre-releasing another song for the fans.

Before launching their new album in July, B2ST will release another title track, “I’m Sorry”, on June 15th. The song was co-produced by member Yong Junhyung and composer Kim Tae Joo, and the lyrics will be about the feelings a man has after breaking up.

B2ST will be showcasing the title song “I’m Sorry” for the first time at the special event “B2UTY Gather” taking place at Maru Park in Gangnam on June 15 at 8pm KST.

Girl’s Generation’s Tiffany led an exclusive interview with popular Hollywood’s actor Brad Pitt.

 On June 11th, Brad Pitt, who visited Korea for movie ‘World War Z’, had an interview with Girl’s Generation’s Tiffany at Gyeongbokgung in Seoul. This interview was for SBS ‘One Night of TV Entertainment.’

 Brad Pitt was interviewed at the Geunjeongjeon in Gyeongbokgung, which holds the king’s throne. He was the first foreign star to be interviewed at this location. After his interview, the actor attended a red carpet event that was held Cheonggye Square, and met up with his fans.

 ‘World War Z’ based on a novel of the same title, centers on an outbreak of a zombie apocalypse where Brad Pitt plays a role of an investigator with the United Nations.

AOA’s Seolhyun is getting a great number of compliments for her great acting in SBS daily drama ‘Ugly Alert’.

She plays the character Gong Na Ri, a bright girl who dreams of becoming an actress. This is her second drama after her role on ‘My Daughter Seoyoung’. Seolhyun transforms into a lovely high school student who believes that she has a god given talent to pursue her dream.

Seolhyun commented, “My actual personality changed while casting as Gong Na Ri. The director also told me that I'm a perfect person for the character, and I will keep doing my best to not disappoint many people.”

Soon-to-be husband and wife, Lee Byung Hyun and Lee Min Jung left on a trip to the America together on June 7th, sparking rumors that they might have an early honeymoon.

A representative of Lee Byung Hun’s agency explained, “It is true that Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung left to America together last week for agency meetings and schedules. It’s too fancy to call it a honeymoon. They’re just gone for business and vacation.”

The rep added, “Lee Min Jung went to America as her private vacation while Lee Byung Hun will have his promotions for his new movie ‘Red 2’. As we know, they are not on an early honeymoon.”

Meanwhile, Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung will tie the knot on August 10th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

It was revealed that Sihyun, a member of female vocal trio Gavy NJ, has been detained for shoplifting.

According to reports, Sihyun was caught leaving a store without paying for about 300,000 KRW (approximately $266 USD) worth of clothing on June 10. The police investigated the matter and Sihyun admitted to being guilty of the crime.

The singer has come to an amicable agreement with the store, which will not pursue legal charges. Her agency explained that it was an act of impulse due to suffering from stress and premenstrual syndrome.

Sihyun posted an apology for the incident on Facebook and Twitter saying, “I’m deeply sorry for having let down fans and others who know me. I’m not trying to make excuses. I just wanted to apologize.”

On June 11th, SISTAR released their second official album. Within hours, the title song “Give It To Me” leaped to the real-time top spot of Korea’s various music sites, scoring an all-kill.

The song topped real-time charts of Melon, Mnet, Olleh Music, Bugs, Soribada, Monkey3, Naver Music, Cyworld Music and Daum Music.
